Stephen A. King
Stephen King is an alumni of both UCLA and the University of La Verne where he was selected for the honor of joining the school’s law review, but chose instead to focus his attention on serving the Student Bar Association as its President. He did this because he felt it was a better opportunity to give back to the community. Attorney King has always been dedicated to serving the community and has kept these values as he has made the transition from being recognized as a rising star in law school to becoming a universally respected top-notch litigator.
Attorney King initially developed his sterling reputation by focusing on criminal law. He is one of very few attorneys who can claim to have won not only positive results at trial but outright dismissals of nearly every possible criminal charge, including the newsworthy and highly unusual dismissal of a murder case.
After making thousands of successful arguments before judges throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties Attorney King’s stellar reputation precedes him. With nearly 80 jury trials and countless law and motion arguments under his belt he has developed a unique mix of hard-fought experience and youthful energy.
Despite his success, Attorney King’s practice focuses on client service and not racking up high legal bills. From the inception of his firm Attorney King has cherished the notion that to practice law correctly is to practice with integrity and focus on customer service. Attorney King treats every client with respect not just as another new case. He invests personally in each case and fights as if it were his own.
Although Attorney King still handles criminal cases, he has expanded his practice to include other areas where he can further utilize his talents and experience. He now successfully handles cases in the areas of employment law, personal-injury, civil rights, and entertainment law.
Attorney King’s spare time is mostly spent focusing on his faith, family, and basketball game. He is proud to say he is most successful working on the first two.
Erick Victor Munoz
Both an immigrant and native Spanish speaker Attorney Erick Munoz’ professional demeanor fits right in with the firm priorities that Attorney King has established: customer oriented practice and unyielding integrity.
Attorney Munoz joined the firm after graduating from UC Berkeley law school as its third year class president and serving in several leadership positions in the school’s Latino Law Students organizations.
Attorney Munoz counts among his proudest achievements having played an instrumental role in establishing the Cruz Reynoso Social Justice Fellowship at Berkeley Law. The Fellowship provides law students with the opportunity to spend summers serving the community and preserves the progressive identity of Berkeley’s La Raza Law Student Organization.
Similar to Attorney King, he began his career as a public defender winning trials from East Los Angeles to South Central. Attorney Munoz then joined a large private firm to gain experience with a civil litigation practice. His unique perspective as both an alumni of a large firm and a successful litigator on behalf of indigent defendants serves as a pronounced advantage in both criminal and civil litigation. Attorney Munoz is extremely proud of his extensive and varied list of satisfied clients ranging from those facing multiple felony counts, those being treated unfairly in the workplace, and victims of police misconduct.
Upon returning to Los Angeles, Attorney Munoz chose to join the Law Offices of Stephen A. King instead of going to another large corporate firm because he relished the opportunity to work in an environment where every client is important and each case is a cause worth fighting.
Since joining the firm Attorney Munoz has delighted in the opportunity to interact with Spanish-speaking clients while continuing to develop his passion and experience litigating police misconduct.
Recently married, in his spare time Attorney Munoz enjoys traveling, wine tasting, collecting Air Jordans, and explaining to friends why it it okay for him to be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
